SCLAS

The Seacroft Community Literature and Art Society (SCLAS) is really a friendly club run by Geraldine Beattie and Bill Askin. Local writers and artists, including Bill Askin, Margaret Barker, Martin Harrison-Smith, Nell Longden, Chris, Sheila, Barbara, Sandra and Jan meet every week: Tuesday 1–3pm at Seacroft Village Hall. We also have resident musicians Bryan and Jim, on ukuleles, too.
This is a FREE event. Tea, coffee and biscuits available. All welcome!
Why do we meet? We all enjoy reading, writing, art, music…

Neil Walker
A very important member of Seacroft Community Literature and Art Society (SCLAS), a dear man called Neil Walker, passed away suddenly in 2012. Neil will never be forgotten and as he was organising our short story and poetry prize, we have created a Memorial Prize in his name. The Neil Walker Prize is a cash prize publicised across Leeds every year. The 2013 prize will be launched on Tuesday 1 October 2013, from 1.30-3pm, at the Digital Lounge, Ramshead, Leeds LS141BT.
